Jesus as Savior: Understanding Salvation
“because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
Foundational teaching
Salvation is the foundation of the Christian faith and the beginning of a lifelong journey with God. Through Jesus' death and resurrection, we are offered forgiveness of sins and the promise of eternal life. This gift is free. You receive it by trusting Jesus. You do not earn it by trying hard.
What this means for you
You do not have to clean yourself up before God will accept you. Salvation is God's gift, offered because of His love and secured by what Jesus has already done. Being saved means your sins are forgiven, you are welcomed into God's family, and a new life has begun — not because you were good enough, but because Christ was.

Guided prayer
Father, thank You for loving me before I understood anything about You. I believe Jesus is Lord and that You raised Him from the dead. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me new life. Help me live today as someone who has been rescued. In Jesus' name, Amen.
