Multiply Disciples

Day 27 of 30

Serving Others in Love

For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
Galatians 5:13 (ESV)

Foundational teaching

Service is a practical expression of love for God and love for people. It reflects the heart of Jesus, who came not to be served but to serve. Look for ways to serve within your church and beyond it, showing the love of Christ through action.

What this means for you

Christian freedom is not freedom to please yourself; it is freedom to love without fear. Serving does not need a title or a platform. Start with the need in front of you.

Reflection questions

  1. What motivates you to serve others, and how does serving affect your faith?
  2. Where is there an unmet need close to you right now?
  3. What gift or skill could you offer your church?

My first step

Do one act of practical service this week for someone who cannot repay you.

Guided prayer

Jesus, You came to serve. Free me from self-focus and show me who to serve today. Let love, not obligation, be my motive. Amen.
