The Great Commission: Making Disciples
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Foundational teaching
The Great Commission is not a task for a select few but a calling for all Christians. Notice that Jesus does not say only 'tell people the good news'; He says make disciples — baptizing and teaching them to follow everything He commanded. Sharing the gospel is where it begins; walking alongside people as they learn to obey Jesus is how it continues.
What this means for you
Making disciples is mostly unglamorous and relational: reading Scripture with someone, praying with them, answering questions, being honest about your own growth. You do not need to be an expert. You only need to be one step down the road and willing to walk with someone.

- What is the difference between sharing the gospel once and making a disciple?
- Who has helped you learn to follow Jesus, and how did they do it?
- Who could you walk alongside, even a step or two ahead of them?

Guided prayer
Lord Jesus, You promised to be with me to the end of the age. Give me courage to speak of You and patience to walk with others as they learn to follow You. Amen.
