Introduction to the Bible
“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”
Foundational teaching
The Bible is not just a book. It is God's revelation — the way God makes Himself and His truth known. He gave it to guide us into truth and into living in a way that pleases Him. It teaches us about God's character, His plans for people, and how to live as followers of Christ. Approach it as the living Word of God, able to speak into your life today.
What this means for you
You do not need to be a scholar to read the Bible well. Start with a Gospel, read a little each day, and ask God to teach you. Verses that correct you are as much a gift as verses that comfort you — both are part of being equipped.

Choose a specific time and place to read Scripture tomorrow, and read ten verses of the Gospel of John.
Guided prayer
Father, thank You for speaking through Your Word. Give me hunger for it and humility to be corrected by it. Teach me as I read. Amen.
