Studying the Gospels: The Life of Christ

Foundational teaching
The Gospels — Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John — give a direct look at the life, ministry, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. They are the place to begin in understanding who Jesus is and what He came to do. As you read, watch for how Jesus fulfills what the Old Testament promised and pointed toward, and how His teaching applies to your life.
What this means for you
The whole Bible points to Jesus. Reading the Gospels first gives you a clear picture of Him, which then helps every other part of Scripture make more sense. Pay attention not only to what Jesus says, but to how He treats people.
