Repentance and Forgiveness
“Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,”
Foundational teaching
Repentance is more than feeling sorry. It is a change of mind and direction: turning away from sin and turning back to God. Forgiveness itself, however, is not earned by the act of repenting. It is received through Jesus Christ, who paid for our sins at the cross. Repentance is the turning of an empty hand toward the gift God freely offers.
What this means for you
You will never repent well enough to deserve forgiveness, and you do not have to. Forgiveness rests on Christ's finished work, not on the intensity of your sorrow. Repentance is simply how you receive what He has already accomplished — honestly, and as often as you need to.

Confess one thing to God specifically, then thank Him aloud that forgiveness comes through Christ and not through your performance.
Guided prayer
Father, I turn from what I know is wrong and turn back to You. Thank You that my forgiveness rests on what Jesus has done, not on what I can produce. Send times of refreshing from Your presence. Amen.
